The War on Masculinity, Between Andrew Tate and Charlie Kirk

A generation of men was told to be quiet, and then blamed for being lost.

For years masculinity has been treated as a defect to be managed. Boys were medicated for being boys. Fathers were written out of the story. Strength was recast as threat.

Into that silence came new voices. Two of them, very different, now shape how millions of young men understand what a man is.

The appeal of the hyper masculine influencer is easy to understand. He speaks with certainty to men who have been given none. He talks about discipline, money, fitness and refusing to be weak.

Some of that is not wrong. Men should be disciplined. Men should provide. Men should be able to protect. The problem is what sits underneath it: dominance without accountability, women treated as a scoreboard, and ambition with no one to answer to.

The second kind of voice speaks about family, faith, conviction and the courage to hold an unpopular position in public. It calls young men to marry, to father, to build institutions rather than only personal brands.

You do not have to agree with every political line to notice the difference in direction. One message says take. The other says be responsible for something.

• Does he point men toward Christ, or toward himself?
• Does his strength protect the weak or exploit them?
• Does he honour women, or use them as proof of status?
• Is he accountable to anyone at all?
• Would his life bless a wife and children, or exhaust them?

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.”1 Corinthians 16:13

It is strength under authority. A man who can fight but chooses to serve. A man who works hard, keeps his word, covers his household, disciplines his appetite and kneels before God.

That kind of man is not soft and he is not cruel. He is dangerous to the enemy and safe to his family.

Stop mocking the men who are trying. Honour good fathers loudly. Raise sons who know that leadership means sacrifice. And pray for the young men who found a voice online because nobody spoke to them at home.
