The Way You Handle Money Is Either Building You or Breaking You

Money is not the goal. It is a test.

You do not earn just to spend. You do not save just to feel safe. You do not build just to look successful. You steward.

Every pound that passes through your hands is telling you something about your character. It reveals what you trust, what you fear and what you truly worship.

Money does not change a person. It enlarges them. Generosity becomes greater generosity. Impulse becomes greater impulse. Fear becomes hoarding. Pride becomes display.

This is why the amount is never the real issue. Plenty of people are broke on a large income and plenty are faithful on a small one. The question is what you do with what is in front of you today.

• Do you know where your money actually goes?
• Do you give first, or only when something is left over?
• Do you buy to soothe yourself, or to serve a plan?
• Do you owe money you cannot explain?
• Would your spending make sense to someone who knows your calling?

“You cannot be trusted with much while you are careless with little.”

Culture sells the appearance of wealth. Cars on finance, bags on credit, holidays posted before the payment clears. It looks like abundance and behaves like bondage.

Real wealth is quieter. It is having margin. It is owning what you own. It is being able to say yes when God asks you to give, because nothing you hold is already promised to a lender.

“The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”Proverbs 22:7

The parable of the talents is not a lecture on investing. It is a warning about burying what you have been given out of fear. The servant who hid his portion was not called cautious. He was called unfaithful.

God is not looking for women who are afraid of money. He is looking for women who can hold it without being held by it.

• Write down every number, even the ones you avoid.
• Give deliberately and give first.
• Clear debt with urgency, not shame.
• Build a reserve before you build a lifestyle.
• Put money into things that produce, not only things that impress.
• Teach your children while they are young enough to listen.

None of this is about becoming obsessed with money. It is about refusing to be ruled by it, so that your hands are free to build what He asked you to build.
